Where is Vale Sangora?
Vale Sangora is the setting for Coen’s journey, a fictional valley in the Carpathians. The official introduction places the game in fourteenth-century Europe. Its landscape is not simply a backdrop: the day and night forms can change the ways Coen approaches parts of the environment.
The community wiki’s locations reference describes a mixture of inhabited places and wild terrain. This page introduces that geography at a broad level.
Svartrau and the surrounding valley
Svartrau is identified as the capital in the official community bulletin. Fextralife’s location index also lists Svartrau City and Svartrau Outskirts separately. Keep those labels distinct when matching a guide or in-game objective to a location name.
Outside the settlements, the locations reference describes forests, swamps and caves. Those broad terrain descriptions are useful context, but they are not a verified list of enemies, loot or quest prerequisites for every area.
Place names in the location index
The following names appear in Fextralife’s locations index. They remain plain reference entries until this wiki has enough verified material to publish a useful individual page.
| Place names | Place names |
|---|---|
| Anachora | Boar’s Back |
| Briar Sloughs | Greifberg Castle |
| Laslea Glen | Maragir Wealds |
| Rockfalls | St. Tyna’s Grove |
| Svartrau City | Svartrau Outskirts |
| Tantari Woods | The Silts |
The table is a transcription of names, not a recommended order of travel or a claim that the index is exhaustive.
Can you explore without spending the deadline?
The official explanation separates exploration and combat from actions that move narrative time forward. Ordinary exploration does not drain the clock. Specific quest steps and conversations can, with an hourglass indicating a time-consuming choice. Read the 30-day time-limit guide before drawing conclusions about how far you can progress in a single phase.
About the image
The landscape shown here comes from the official Dawnwalker open-world showcase. It illustrates the setting; no map markers, coordinates or location boundaries have been inferred from the image.
Explore the capital
The Svartrau city reference distinguishes the capital, its cathedral and its underground spaces. Brencis rules from Greifberg Castle above the city, while Xanthe oversees the southeast.
